Happy Birthday Mom/Mim

Today is my mom's birthday! She is more than just my mom, she is also "Mim" and "E" to just about everyone else that knows her. Mike even calls her mom because she has always treated him like her son, not her son in law. I don't know what I would ever do without her and owe her so much. She has taught me to be so many things but the most important of those is to love and trust God. She has always been there to help me through everything!! And when I say everything, I literally mean everything!!! I can never repay her for all the things she has done for me and my family. She spent the night with me last night and has had NO SLEEP because of the baby, but she will never complain! The pictures below were her reaction to us telling her that I was pregnant with Channing! Obviously, she was very surprised and thrilled! These are absolutely priceless! Happy Birthday Mom! We love you! You are the absolute best!!!

Channing Cope Cummins

Well, we are home and trying to settle in to a new routine. We got home from the hospital Monday morning around 10:30 and life has been a little crazy ever since. I am going to give a quick rundown of what has been going on the past 2 days. Mike went to the grocery store to pick up some groceries and got Arden from school. She had a ball game that night so they went to that and while they were gone, Channing and I just rested. Kirby, Regan, and Tish cooked supper for us and it was delicious!! Connor came to see his new cousin too but I am not sure he has figured out what she is just yet, but in a few months, I am sure they will be big buddies!! Mom came by on her way home from school and helped me do some laundry. Yesterday morning, we took Arden to school and, of course, had to show off Channing to my co-workers. Then we stopped by to see Aunt Annette and from there visited Granny Ma and Pap. My Granny Ma is who Channing is named after, so that was a very special visit. She fed and held her the whole time we were there. We had to get Arden at school by 12:30, so we picked her up and came home. I had to get stuff ready to Kindergarten graduation and left here about 5:30 and didn't get home until about 8:00. They did such a great job and the program was precoius! I will post some pictures of that when I get time. Mike has to go back to work tonight, so he is sleeping all day. Kirby is coming over about 12:00 to drive me to school so I can draw my class for next year, check on stuff, and take Arden to dance. I hate not being at school and it has absolutely driven me crazy to not be in control of what's going on. I know everything is fine, but still it is hard, especially this time of year! I plan on making some more pictures of Channing today and will get them posted. If you haven't seen her yet, you can check Kirby and Paula's blogs. They have a couple of pictures posted. She is an exact repeat of Arden!! We are doing great! Thanks to all of my friends and family that have helped me the past couple of days. I love you all so much!!!!!!

Gettin' Ready

It seemed as if it would never get here, but the day has finally arrived! Tomorrow morning by this time, I should be holding my new baby girl! Yesterday was my last day of work, so that was a relief! I am so glad that I was healthy enough to be able to work the entire time, but I am worn out! The end of the year is always crazy...fun, but crazy! My wonderful co-workers gave me a shower on Tuesday afternoon and they went all out! It was decorated so beautifully and I go more stuff than I can even begin to list! Arden and I went to Wal Mart yesterday after my pedicure and finished buying bottles, "Nuks" (pacifiers), wash cloths, towels, and snacks for the hospital. She is so excited, she can hardly stand it! Kirby came over and completely organized the entire nursery for me. That was such a huge help! She put all the onesies, gowns, etc. in order by size! I can't thank her enough because I just didn't have the energy to do it!! Tonight after the ballgame, Mom, Mike, Arden and I are driving on to Nashville to spend the night at a hotel across the street from the hospital because I have to be there in the morning at
5:30. The C-section is scheduled for 7:30, which is exactly the same time as Arden's, and she was born at 8:05, so hopefully things will unfold the same way. I am so ready for this to be over with and little anxious. With my first pregnancy, I didn't know what to expect with the epidural, recovery etc. Now, I do know and that makes me a little nervous. I had THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE with the epidural! And from what I had been told, that was supposed to be a breeze! The lady that gave it to me, "dug" around in my back for about 30 minutes trying to figure out where to put it and when she finally got it in, I was in tears and begging for them to knock me out!!!!!!! I was left with a bruise the size of a large grapefruit on my back. I haven't forgotten her face and I hope she has either retired or moved to a foreign country, because if she steps foot into my room, the gloves will come off!!! Today I will be packing, cleaning and going to get my eye brows waxed! Mike took Arden to school and is hoping to come home and mow the yard, but from the looks of the sky, he won't get to do that. I am taking the lap top to the hospital so we can hopefully post some pictures over the weekend. Please keep us in your prayers! Especially pray that that anestesiologist has found a new career!!
